Thus, the Bioinformatics Platform UAB Hospitals (BioinfoUAB) is a specialized in technology and infrastructure to boost bioinformatics research, "omics" that take place in the scientific field of the UAB, which involves researchers from prestigious campus UAB and Research Institutes, Hospital de la Vall d'Hebron, Sant Pau and Germans Trias i Pujol, who bring their expertise in different areas of bioinformatics to facilitate the search for solutions to data analysis "omics".

The main objectives of the platform BioinfoUAB are:
  • Provide an advisory service, data analysis and creation of bioinformatics databases
  • Facilitating access to infrastructure and software bionformáticos
  • Implement training programs in bioinformatics
  • Participate in multidisciplinary research projects
  • Promote bioinformatics activities at UAB through our network of information and communication science BioinfoUAB
The platform has a distributed structure that allows for network growth, with a hub located on the campus of the Autonomous University of Barcelona, where are also the central server and personnel who manage the service.
